Jannik Sinner is changing his approach ahead of the U.S. Open, and Laila Hasanovic is always by the champion’s side

After his second triumph at Wimbledon, Jannik Sinner chose a path that is as simple as it is necessary: to take a break. The world No. 1 is enjoying a few days of relaxation with his girlfriend, Laila Hasanovic: the two were photographed by the paparazzi (at a location not disclosed by the gossip columnists themselves) in a “honeymoon” atmosphere, but behind the romantic setting lies, above all, a sporting necessity: to recharge his batteries ahead of the U.S. Open.
What happened this spring—playing (and winning) five consecutive Masters 1000 tournaments, as well as the discomfort he experienced at Roland Garros and the subsequent medical exams—has forced the Italian champion to exercise the utmost caution. Wimbledon confirmed his return to the highest level, but also underscored the need not to rush things. For this reason, too, this break takes on special significance: it is not merely a reward following victory, but a fundamental step in preparing for the North American hard-court season.
In this context, Laila’s presence is discreet yet significant: the Danish model does not fuel social media speculation, and Sinner does the same. This approach stems from a deliberate choice: to protect their privacy and, above all, to prevent any dip in performance from being linked to their personal life—a common occurrence in sports and, even more so, in an individual sport like tennis.
The couple lives away from the spotlight, but not far from the excitement: Laila’s presence in the stands during the Wimbledon final, alongside the tennis player’s family, was the clearest confirmation of this. Now the two are enjoying the sea, the silence, and a sense of normalcy: a brief but precious interlude before returning to the court to reclaim the number one spot. Rest is part of the job, and this break—spent discreetly with those closest to them—could prove just as decisive as an effective training program.
