Milan Transfer Market, the Amorim Revolution: Four of Massimiliano Allegri’s Loyalists Are Out

After failing to qualify for the Champions League last season, Milan decided to fire Massimiliano Allegri (along with Igli Tare, Marco Furlani, and Geoffrey Moncada) and handed the reins to former Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim.

The young Portuguese manager wants to make several changes to the roster, and four of Allegri’s loyalists could be on their way out in the coming weeks. The first is Fikayo Tomori, whose contract expires in 2027 and who is not part of Amorim’s plans. Juventus is interested in the English player, but the Rossoneri would prefer to sell him abroad.

Davide Bartesaghi, last year’s big surprise for Milan, could also be on his way out. The young fullback has enormous potential, but Amorim would like a more explosive player and has asked the scouts to look for a new type of player.

Alexis Saelemaekers, an indispensable player for Massimiliano Allegri, is also at risk of losing his spot. The Belgian is skilled in both phases of the game, but Amorim would like a player with more scoring ability.

The future is also uncertain for Matteo Gabbia, who played very well last season before getting injured. The center back has improved tremendously, but he lacks the qualities needed for Ruben Amorim’s style of play; it’s no coincidence that Mario Gila was signed from Lazio.
