2026–2027 Preseason Friendlies: Galatasaray vs. Monza—Probable Lineups

After kicking off the season a few days ago with a 4-3 win over Pro Vercelli, Monza returns to the field on Friday to face a regular contender in European competitions: Galatasaray, which has won the Turkish league for the past four years. The match will be played at the Raiffeisen Arena in Linz, Austria, with kickoff scheduled for 8:00 p.m.

Galatasaray began its new season with a 5-1 friendly win over Umraniyespor, a Danish club in the Turkish second division. After falling behind early, the Istanbul Giallorossi turned the score around with goals from Yuzgec and Karatas, before running riot in the second half with goals from Guner, Lus, and Tagay. Gundogan and Osimhen are expected to take the field; for the Nigerian, in particular, this will be his first match of the summer.

As for Monza, their friendly against Pro Vercelli should be taken with a grain of salt, given the impact of their training workload on the 90-minute match. Colpani and Petagna, who both scored against the Piedmontese side, are expected to start from the first minute against Galatasaray as well, in the 3-4-2-1 formation of the Biancorossi’s new coach, Ivan Juric. It won’t be Monza’s only international friendly; on July 30, they’ll face Aris Thessaloniki.
