The football world is mourning the tragic death of Jordan Devey, who passed away at the age of 38. The former New England Patriots star, who won the Super Bowl with the team in 2014, took his own life after a long battle with depression.

Devey’s family has launched a fundraiser: “He was a beloved and respected member of the Eagle community, known for his unwavering dedication to serving others,” reads the fundraiser’s description. “He was a devoted husband and a loving father to his four children.”

“He devoted countless hours to volunteering as a coach, both for his children’s teams and for the athletes at Eagle High School, where he was deeply loved by the students who saw him as a mentor, a role model, and a friend. His commitment to supporting those around him extended far beyond sports: he faithfully served his religious community, offering support, comfort, and friendship to anyone in need.”

Jordan Devey came up through the ranks of the Memphis Tigers, later moving on to the Baltimore Ravens and then the New England Patriots. In 2015, he joined the San Francisco 49ers, then played for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Oakland Raiders before retiring.
