Rome Transfer Market: Agreement Reached for Castro; Dovbyk Heads in the Opposite Direction

Roma pulls off a major coup by signing Castro. As reported by Sky Sport, the Giallorossi have reached an agreement with Bologna to secure the Argentine forward, one of the best in his position in Serie A.

This is a major deal, with Roma set to pay Bologna 35 million euros, plus bonuses. Castro leaves Bologna after two outstanding seasons in which he scored 16 goals in 79 total appearances. With Bologna, he won the 2024–25 Coppa Italia.

Bologna will also receive Dovbyk in exchange. The Ukrainian forward is joining the Rossoblù on loan. In his two seasons at Roma, he scored 20 goals (in 63 total matches) but never quite managed to fully convince. Now he’ll have a great chance to redeem himself under new coach Tedesco.

For Roma coach Gasperini, this is a crucial addition to the attack. Castro, 24, has the perfect attributes to fit into the Giallorossi coach’s system.
