Juventus Transfer News: Randal Kolo Muani is the new centerpiece of the Bianconeri’s attack—in every sense of the word—but Dusan Vlahovic doesn’t seem willing to give up. The mixed signals between the parties speak for themselves: on one hand, the club has assigned the Frenchman the number 9 (as opposed to the number 20 he wore in 2025). On the other hand, there’s the Serbian center forward, currently a free agent after his contract expired on June 30. But for him, according to his official social media profiles, nothing seems to have changed.
In fact, if you visit his Instagram account, Vlahovic has effectively put his situation on hold, as if the 2025–2026 season had never ended. In fact, his profile description consists of a very clear “DV9,” a profile picture showing him wearing the black-and-white jersey from behind—with a very obvious number 9—and, most notably, a bio that reads: “Juventus Football Club & Serbia.” It’s possible this is simply laziness, but that seems unlikely: it’s hard to imagine a professional soccer player neglecting his official social media channels at such a pivotal moment in his career. So perhaps this is an attempt on his part to send a transfer market message to the Old Lady.
Yet the road to a sensational return appears anything but smooth. Juventus, for its part, is said to have set a very specific ceiling for a potential new contract with the Serbian: no more than 6.5 million euros per season—a figure that remains far below the player’s demands. A gap that, for now, shows no sign of closing, despite the social media hints dropped by the 2000-born star.
Meanwhile, the transfer buzz surrounding Vlahovic hasn’t stopped. The most concrete offer came from Turkey: Vincenzo Italiano’s Besiktas had put a top-tier package on the table, including a 5 million signing bonus and 8 million net per season for two years. The offer was rejected, and not just for financial reasons: the Serbian is reportedly unconvinced by both the team’s technical vision and the prospect of playing in a league considered second-tier. His dream destination remains Barcelona, which, however, has already turned down advances from the player’s entourage, deeming his salary and bonus demands excessive.
Further complicating the picture is the stance of Luciano Spalletti himself. The Juventus coach holds Vlahovic in high regard and would have no problem reintegrating him into the squad, but the club is weighing different priorities, influenced in part by the investments it has already made. The signing of Kolo Muani from PSG for 38 million plus 12 in bonuses, combined with the approximately 35 million spent on Kerim Alajbegovic, has significantly reduced the club’s financial flexibility. This situation makes it difficult to imagine a major expenditure even for a potential third center forward.
Juventus, however, has not ruled out making further moves up front. With Jonathan David—who arrived on a free transfer from Lille a year ago but proved to be a disappointment—set to leave for Ligue 1, a net salary of 6 million would be freed up and could be reinvested. Among the players being monitored by management is Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee, while Vlahovic’s name—though not prominently featured in the club’s official evaluations—continues to be a hot topic.
