UEFA Is Not Satisfied with Infantino’s Backtracking: Letters Are Being Sent to Everyone
Spark has flown between UEFA and FIFA—and, in particular, between Ceferin and Infantino. According to The Telegraph, European soccer’s governing body has threatened the FIFA president with legal action regarding In a letter addressed to Gianni Infantino, obtained by the British newspaper, UEFA states that it is “actively considering legal action, arbitration proceedings, and/or complaints to regulatory authorities” in connection with the matter. Similar letters were reportedly sent to several potential FFE partners, including American entrepreneur Joshua Kushner, TripAdvisor CEO Greg Maffei, and JP Morgan.
According to this information, UEFA has also ordered FIFA and its president to preserve all documents and electronic data related to the case, in order to eliminate any risk of destruction or alteration of evidence that could be used in potential legal proceedings. Any deletion or concealment of documents could be considered destruction of evidence.
In short, despite having publicly admitted that he has abandoned the FFE project, Infantino is still under attack. The situation could even escalate. According to several sources, his future as FIFA’s top official is at risk.
