Juventus Transfer Market: The Least Expected Name Is Gaining Ground

Juventus has not yet made a final decision on which goalkeeper will start next season. Among the names being considered by the Bianconeri management, Guglielmo Vicario remains at the top of the list, as he continues to be viewed as one of the most viable options in terms of cost and the feasibility of the deal.

The former Empoli player, who reportedly would be happy to return to Italy for personal reasons as well, is awaiting developments with confidence. Discussions between Juventus, Tottenham, and the player’s representatives are ongoing, aided by the willingness of the Spurs—led by Roberto De Zerbi—to consider potential offers. The most likely scenario remains a loan with an option to buy, a solution that would allow the Bianconeri to postpone a more costly investment for the position by one year.

In recent hours, however, Noah Atubolu has also emerged as a strong candidate. The Freiburg goalkeeper, a member of the German Under-21 national team, has not yet renewed his contract, which expires in 2027, and the arrival of Mio Backhaus could pave the way for his departure. The German club values him at at least 15 million euros, while Aston Villa and Bournemouth are also keeping a close eye on the 2002-born goalkeeper.

Juventus, however, continues to monitor several prospects. In recent months, they have explored the possibilities of signing Alisson—who ultimately remained at Liverpool—and Mile Svilar, whom Roma considers unsellable after rejecting a €40 million offer. The path to Emiliano Martinez is also more complicated, with Aston Villa continuing to demand a fee considered excessive.

The option of Zion Suzuki also remains open. Paris Saint-Germain is close to signing the Japanese goalkeeper from Parma for over 33 million euros and could subsequently send him out on loan for a season. Juventus is watching the development of the deal with interest, as it would represent a temporary solution before the player’s permanent move to Paris.

Management’s goal is to resolve the matter quickly, so as to provide Luciano Spalletti with the new starting goalkeeper before the start of the season and the opening match against Frosinone.
