Preseason friendlies: Newport vs. Roma, probable lineups

Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma are set to play their second friendly in Wales. After their heavy defeat against Cardiff City, the Giallorossi are hoping to bounce back against Newport County, a team that plays in England’s League Two. The match is scheduled for 8 p.m.

Gasperini might start Castro from the 1st minute, bringing on Malen in the second half. Dybala and Castro will flank the center forward. Rensch and Mannini will start on the wings, while Cristante and El Aynaoui will anchor the midfield. New signing Koulierakis could also see some playing time on defense. After the Newport match, Roma’s busy schedule continues with games against Brighton and Borussia Dortmund, scheduled for August 4 and 8.

Newport will field Pugh as the center forward, with a trio of attacking midfielders consisting of Gwengwe, Biggins, and Bamba. Brennan and Evans will anchor the midfield.
