Angeliño’s time with Roma has come to an end. After two and a half seasons with the Giallorossi, the Spanish fullback is set to return to his home country to begin a new chapter with Deportivo de La Coruña, which has just been promoted to La Liga. Today, the player will undergo his medical exam before joining the team at their training camp in Florence, where a friendly match against Fiorentina is scheduled for Thursday.

The agreement between the two clubs is now finalized: Angeliño will join on loan, with an obligation to buy set at 2.5 million euros.

His departure marks the end of a journey that has left lasting memories in the capital. The Spaniard was, in fact, one of the key figures in Roma’s resurgence during the season that saw Claudio Ranieri’s return. At a critical juncture, with the team mired near the bottom of the standings following a difficult stretch under Ivan Juric, Angeliño established himself as one of the key players in the comeback. His performances on the left flank, highlighted by decisive goals and a rare consistency, contributed significantly to Roma’s push for European qualification, as the team came within a hair’s breadth of qualifying for the Champions League.

Last season, however, his form failed to maintain the same high standards, and the club and the player gradually drifted apart. Now, a new opportunity is opening up in Spain for the 1997-born player, with the goal of regaining his confidence and returning to a leading role.
