Ducati: How Is Marc Marquez Doing? “I Have to Adapt”

Ducati rider Marc Marquez spoke at a press conference at Silverstone about his physical condition three months after his shoulder surgery. The No. 93 rider, who is climbing back up the MotoGP world standings and is now in third place, explained how he’s had to adapt to perform at his best on the track.
“Speaking of my right arm, it’s not the same right arm as last year; it’s not the same as it was in the first part of the season. It’s a different right arm. So I’ll try to get used to it; I’ll try to be at 100% every weekend.”
Rider number 93 then went into more detail in an interview with Motosan: “Some muscles are improving and others aren’t. But, as I said, I don’t want to dwell on how things are. It is what it is. So, with that in mind, I’ll try to find a solution. I’ll adapt my riding style once again.”
Living with physical pain has now become a constant in the Catalan champion’s life; he had already opened up about it in a recent interview on the Spanish podcast ‘Soy Blak’: “As an athlete gets older and suffers more injuries, he has to live with pain. He can’t complain all the time; otherwise, he risks spending the whole day in physical therapy.” This confession went viral online, accompanied by an even more surprising revelation: Marquez admitted that he cannot sleep on his right side because of his arm, and that he now has to devote almost all his free time to training, including cardio sessions, strength training, and specific exercises for his injured limb.
The team’s confidence in the rider is absolute. Ducati team principal Davide Tardozzi, who in recent weeks officially announced the renewal of Marquez’s contract through 2028, made no secret of his enthusiasm: “Marc is incredible and never ceases to amaze me. We know exactly what his physical condition is, and what he’s doing is superhuman. He’s doing what no other rider could do in his physical condition.”
