According to a report in the British newspaper The Times, FIFA President Gianni Infantino is reportedly pushing for host the 2030 World Cup final in Morocco, in Casablanca, where the new Hassan II Stadium is under construction and is set to become the world’s largest soccer stadium with a capacity of approximately 115,000 seats.

A FIFA spokesperson, as reported by ESPN, stated that it is “false and misleading to claim that the FIFA president has made any promises regarding the hosting of the 2030 FIFA World Cup final. FIFA will make a decision in due course.”

Following the widespread criticism it has faced, FIFA is now ready to fight back: “FIFA will no longer tolerate any attacks on its integrity, good governance, and due process, and will take all necessary measures to protect and safeguard its name and reputation,” reads the statement reported by ESPN.

Thus, FIFA is offering its full support to President Gianni Infantino and has decided to respond forcefully to those who continue to corner FIFA’s top official, demanding his resignation. Finally, FIFA stated that Secretary General Mattias Grafström and the Executive Committee members present at the last official meeting expressed their support for the embattled president.
