Preseason friendlies: Cagliari vs. Nice, probable lineups

Cagliari and Nice face off at 8:30 p.m. in the second edition of the Riva Trophy. With two weeks to go before their Serie A opener, Pisacane’s team heads into its fourth preseason match after defeating Modena and drawing with Sampdoria and Union Berlin. Now the Rossoblù face the Ligue 1 side in what will be their final true test before the season kicks off.

Cagliari will line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation: Borrelli (or Mendy) as the center forward, with Trepy, Adopo, and Fazzini behind him. In midfield are Winks and Romano, while Ze Pedro and Obert are the two fullbacks. Deiola will lead the defense, with Rodriguez alongside him. Yerry Mina has returned from World Cup duty and is still not in top form. Sebastiano Esposito, who is at odds with the club, will not be playing.

In recent days, Pisacane reflected on the work done so far: “We’re not starting from scratch.
