Inter is in advanced negotiations with Tottenham for right-back Djed Spence, born in 2000. The English fullback’s name has resurfaced in recent hours, and confirmation has come from England: according to British media, the Spurs are open to selling the player.

The transfer fee is reportedly around 30 million euros: Spence is said to have expressed his willingness to join the Italian champions, who are seeking a top-tier fullback to replace Denzel Dumfries, who moved to Real Madrid over a month ago. In addition, Inter Milan could soon part ways with Luis Henrique as well, who is being pursued by Roma.

Following the failed signings of Palestra and Khalaili, the situation appears to have moved forward: Spence’s playing time in London is limited by fullbacks Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro, and the additional arrival of Andy Robertson from Liverpool has further increased the competition. Spence therefore wants to return to Italy (he had already played for Genoa during the 2023–2024 season) to ensure he doesn’t see his playing time decrease.

The British fullback was called up by Tuchel to the England national team for the World Cup and played in all eight of the Three Lions’ matches at the tournament in North America. Spence has reportedly already spoken with his national teammate John Stones, with whom he could be reunited in Milan.

At the same time, Inter’s management continues to keep the Moussa Diaby option open as an alternative. The French winger, born in 1999 and owned by Al-Ittihad, has reportedly not yet accepted Bayer Leverkusen’s offer, effectively reopening the door to a move to Milan. However, the financial hurdles involved in the deal remain clear: the Saudi club is asking for a fee close to 40 million euros, and the player’s salary is well above Inter’s budget. These circumstances make Spence, at around 30 million euros, a decidedly more viable option for Inter.
