Pisa Transfer Market: Bianco Wants Monza’s Striker Back

Monza, which has returned to Serie A after just one season in Serie B, remains a work in progress under coach Paolo Bianco. The Foggia-born coach, now with Pisa, is well aware of this, and Andrea Petagna could join him in Tuscany. Negotiations between the Nerazzurri and the Biancorossi are underway: the Brianza side’s new head coach, Ivan Juric, does not appear willing to give the former Napoli player a starting spot, as he sees Patrick Cutrone as the team’s center forward alongside him.

Petagna could thus leave Monza after four seasons, interrupted by a one-year loan to Cagliari in 2023–2024. While with Monza, he scored 14 goals in 76 matches across all competitions.

The Tuscan club has made an inquiry and is ready to get serious, even though the player’s salary remains an obstacle—he earns 2.8 million euros in Brianza, a very high figure for the Nerazzurri’s budget. One solution could be a loan deal in which Monza would share the cost of the 1995-born player’s salary.

Throughout his career, Petagna has played for Milan, Sampdoria, Latina, Vicenza, Ascoli, Atalanta, SPAL, Napoli, Monza, and Cagliari. The Trieste-born forward has scored a total of 72 goals in his career; in 2017, he played his first and last match for the Italian national team in a friendly against the Netherlands.
