Inter Transfer Market: Two Deals Move Forward; Signings Just Around the Corner

Cristian Chivu can finally smile: Inter is one step away from finalizing a deal with Tottenham’s Djed Spence. The English star is expected to move to Milan for 30 million euros plus bonuses to fill the void left by Denzel Dumfries, who joined Real Madrid in early July.

The negotiations to sign Spence have been a long process: the Spurs had set the price at just under 50 million euros, a figure the Nerazzurri considered excessive; then Beppe Marotta leveraged the fullback’s desire to move, and the English club relented and lowered the price.

Part of the amount Inter paid for Djed Spence will be covered by the sale of Davide Frattesi. The former Sassuolo midfielder is nearing a deal with Lazio, and from his departure, the Nerazzurri are expected to recoup approximately 15 million euros plus bonuses tied to the player’s performance and that of the team coached by Gennaro Gattuso.

The signings of Djed Spence and Davide Frattesi are very close to being finalized, after which Inter will focus on the sale of Luis Henrique. The player, who joined the Nerazzurri from Olympique Marseille last season for just under 23 million euros, has failed to live up to expectations, and Chivu has decided not to count on him.

Roma is very interested in the Brazilian fullback and has already made initial contact with both Inter and the player’s representatives—the 2001-born player. Bournemouth and Besiktas were also interested in the player, but he is close to a move to the capital.
