Turin Transfer Market: Direct Contact with Napoli, the Figures for the Midfield Signing

Torino is working on another addition to its midfield and has set its sights on Napoli midfielder Jens Cajuste. According to Tuttosport, Napoli is open to selling the player, who was not bought outright by Ipswich Town and will not remain under Massimiliano Allegri’s leadership next season.

Ignazio Abate has requested a player with similar characteristics, especially in defensive cover, and Torino’s transfer team has contacted Manna to see if it’s possible to initiate a deal for the midfielder born in 1999.

Torino has proposed a loan deal with a fee of half a million euros, with an option to buy for around 6 million euros. The deal could be finalized, but first Torino will have to offload a midfielder.

On the outgoing front, sporting director Gianluca Petrachi has already identified the players who can be let go. Ivan Ilic is increasingly on the fringes of Abate’s technical plans: the Serbian midfielder failed to impress during the summer training camp in Pinzolo, both in terms of intensity and determination, and Frosinone—newly promoted to Serie A—is reportedly interested in him. Gvidas Gineitis is also a sure departure, with Celtic and Salzburg vying for the Lithuanian, who is valued at around 15 million euros: both clubs can offer him the European stage he is seeking.

Cajuste played for Napoli in Serie A during the 2023–2024 season, appearing in 35 matches across all competitions. Previously, he played for Orgryte and Midtjylland. He has made a total of 25 appearances for the Swedish national team.
