Inter Transfer Market: Curtis Jones Has Said “Yes”

Curtis Jones remains at the top of Inter’s wish list. The Liverpool midfielder is specifically requested by Chivu, who sees the Englishman as the ideal reinforcement to bring technical skill, dynamism, and new options to the Nerazzurri’s midfield. The fact that his contract expires in a year’s time is a favorable factor, even though Liverpool has no intention of lowering its asking price for the time being.

The Reds’ asking price remains close to 40 million euros—a figure Inter considers excessive, especially given the player’s desire not to extend his contract. Inter’s strategy is to use time to their advantage: as the transfer window nears its close, Liverpool might soften its stance to avoid the risk of losing Jones on a free transfer.

A key factor is the midfielder’s own preference, as he has reportedly indicated that Inter is his preferred destination. Jones has also personally denied rumors regarding possible deals with other clubs. On a personal level, the deal is reportedly already finalized, with an agreement reached on salary and bonuses.

The only remaining gap is between Inter and Liverpool. Further talks are expected to try to bring the parties closer together, with a possible deal in the works for a fee between 30 and 35 million euros, including bonuses. Also still on the table is the English club’s request to retain a percentage of any future resale of the player.

Jones’s arrival would cap off Inter’s transfer window. After retaining the key players from the Italian championship-winning team and strengthening the roster in areas considered priorities, the Nerazzurri club wants to give Chivu the final piece to further raise the level of the midfield.
