“I would have liked to play more today.” Luciano Spalletti makes no secret of his dissatisfaction following the intra-squad match between Juventus and Next Gen, which the Bianconeri won 2-0 but was played for only one half. The coach would have liked to make better use of the opportunity to get some minutes under their belts and work on the team’s tactics.

“We needed to train more, but we’ll do that in the coming days,” Spalletti explained to Sky Sport. He then made a brief comment about his meeting with John Elkann: “I went back to being the assistant. I stayed quiet to listen to what he had to say. From the questions he asked, he proved himself to be intelligent.”

The Bianconeri coach then addressed the topic of the transfer market, starting with the arrival of Guglielmo Vicario. “I’m pleased with his arrival; he was one of the players we had our sights set on. We’re happy because we know him, and he’s shown great maturity despite still being young. His recent spell at Tottenham wasn’t positive, and it’s not entirely clear why, but we consider him a top-tier player.”

Spalletti also spoke about Lucumi and the competition within the squad: “As much as possible, we’ve signed players who fit our system. His arrival—and not just his—allows us to have competition for every position and for players to earn their spots.”
