Inter Transfer Market: Not Just Curtis Jones—A New Option for the Right Winger

Inter’s transfer market continues to revolve around Curtis Jones. The Liverpool midfielder remains the top target for Cristian Chivu’s midfield, and Chivu has reportedly received assurances from the club that they are committed to trying to bring the English player to Milan. The player, who was already close to joining the Nerazzurri in January, is said to be open to the move, though an agreement still needs to be reached with Liverpool, which values Jones at at least 40 million euros plus bonuses.

But the Nerazzurri’s transfer market assessments also extend to the wings. Luis Henrique, who arrived last summer, is not considered untouchable and could leave Milan if a satisfactory offer is made. At that point, the club would also seek a replacement, but at a reasonable cost—a winger for the 3-5-2 formation who can also be deployed up front, with different characteristics from the other forwards. Chivu, should Luis Enrique not be sold, has a clear idea of how he could be used: the coach would prefer to try him on the left, as an alternative to Federico Dimarco, taking advantage of his ability to play with his weaker foot.

The main target, however, remains Jones. Chivu considers him a player particularly well-suited to his style of play, thanks to his intensity, strength, and ability to play vertically. La Gazzetta has emphasized how the Englishman could represent a further leap in quality for an Inter side that the coach wants to make even more aggressive and direct.

The negotiations are not straightforward, especially given Liverpool’s demands. Inter, however, can count on the player’s willingness to join and continues to work on lowering the cost of the deal. The goal is clear: free up space through player sales and then make a decisive move for Curtis Jones.
