Miyu Yamashita Sets a Record with a Perfect Week

Miyu Yamashita dominates the CPKC Women’s Open and writes another important chapter in LPGA Tour history. In Edmonton, Canada, the Japanese golfer completed a nearly perfect week, claiming her fourth career victory on the U.S. tour and tying the record for the lowest 72-hole score in Tour history.

The 25-year-old Japanese player had taken the lead on the very first day, when she set a new course record at Royal Mayfair with an extraordinary round of 62. She maintained this impressive pace over the next two days as well, finishing with rounds of 64 and 65, respectively. Yamashita thus entered the fourth and final round with a six-stroke lead over her pursuers.

It was a lead that the Japanese player managed without any particular difficulty. Solid in every aspect of her game and always in control, Yamashita completed the final round in 66 strokes, bringing her total score to -23 and securing her fourth victory on the LPGA Tour in her 42nd start.

The numbers speak to the dominance she displayed throughout the week in Canada. Over four rounds, Yamashita took just 109 putts, making 28 birdies and allowing only five bogeys. This consistency allowed her not only to win the tournament but also to make history on the tour.

The winner of the 2025 Women’s Open completed the 72 holes in just 257 strokes, tying the all-time LPGA Tour record set by Sei Young Kim in 2018. The record was set on the very last hole, thanks to a birdie made with a precise putt right down the center of the hole.
