Antonio Faravelli Wins at the Rapallo Club with His Wines

The Cantine Vitea – Golf and Wine 1895 by Fondazione Montagna tournament, an 18-hole Stableford-format competition, was held at the Rapallo Golf and Tennis Club. The competition awarded prizes for the gross winner, the first and second place finishers in each category, the top female player, and the top senior player. The event combined sports with the promotion of local products and the region.
The Rapallo Golf Club, designed in 1929 and opened in the early 1930s, is one of the oldest in Italy. Originally a nine-hole course along the Boate stream, the course was expanded to eighteen holes between 1970 and 1971. One of its most distinctive features is the 7th hole, located near the ruins of the Valle Christi Monastery. Thanks to the local climate, the course is playable for most of the year.
The initiative was spearheaded by Antonio Faravelli, a winemaker and golfer from Montù Beccaria, who owns Cantine Vitea alongside his children Gaia and Stefano. Faravelli conceived the project
Fabrizio Pagliettini, director of the club, who included the tournament in the summer calendar, and Salvatore Lutero, manager and chef of the clubhouse, who curated the culinary offerings paired with Oltrepò wines, also collaborated on the event.
