Lewis Hamilton Apologizes After His Outburst Against Charles Leclerc and Ferrari

The day after the controversial team radio exchange with the Ferrari pit crew regarding the strategy adopted during the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, Lewis Hamilton backtracked and posted an apology on Instagram. The British driver admits to letting too much frustration get the better of him during the race and acknowledges that he didn’t perform at his best.

“We still have a lot of work to do, especially on the flying lap, but we’ll keep improving together,” Hamilton wrote. “I’ve listened back to some of my comments on the radio and on television. In the heat of the moment, frustration can get the better of you, especially when you care as much as I do.”

Then came the clearest admission: “That wasn’t the best version of myself. I take responsibility for that, and I’ll make sure to be better than what you heard and saw.”

Hamilton then reaffirmed his confidence in the Ferrari project, emphasizing that his strong reaction stems from his deep involvement in the team’s work: “That passion comes from believing in this team, in the people who are part of it, and in what we’re building together. The direction is clear, and the confidence is there.”
