Martina Gottardo is back in the game after a very long absence

CS Plebiscito Padova has officially finalized its roster for the upcoming Women’s Serie A1 season, and it’s done so with two comebacks that feel like coming home. Joining the team to bolster the squad are Carlotta Meggiato on defense and Martina Gottardo, who is set to breathe new life into the offense.

The news that has the red-and-white fanbase most excited is the return of Martina Gottardo, born in 1996, a center forward who won four consecutive league titles with Plebiscito. After three years away from competition, Gottardo has chosen to get back in the game, driven by enthusiasm and her deep familiarity with the Padua scene. Her return sends a strong signal—a addition that brings personality, physicality, and leadership to a team aiming to continue growing.

Meggiato, born in 2000, is returning after a loan stint with Ekipe Orizzonte in Catania. A regular on the national team, she returns to Padua with technical and mental skills enriched by her experience at one of the most competitive clubs in Italian water polo. Head coach Stefano Posterivo enthusiastically welcomed her return, describing her as a now-mature player capable of bringing balance and experience to a young and ambitious team.

The close of the transfer window also coincides with farewells to iconic figures in the club’s recent history: Laura Teani and Alessia Millo have decided to hang up their caps, while Emma Bacelle, Malika Bovo, Amelie Perkins, and Amanda Price will embark on new professional adventures away from Padua.
