Cantù, a new development in the locker room: a co-captain alongside Moraschini

Acqua S.Bernardo Pallacanestro Cantù will have two team captains for the 2026-2027 season. The Brianza-based club has officially announced that Riccardo Moraschini will remain the team’s captain, but he will be joined by Semaj Christon, one of this summer’s new signings, as co-captain. This decision aligns with head coach Frank Vitucci’s approach, inspired by the American model that emphasizes having multiple leaders within the locker room.

Moraschini, now in his fourth season wearing the blue-and-white jersey, will thus retain the captaincy for the second consecutive year. His experience, knowledge of the environment, and ability to lead the team are cornerstones for Cantù, which has chosen to continue relying on him as the face of the project.

Alongside him will be Christon, who is expected to serve as a key figure, particularly among the foreign players. Now in his sixth overall season in the Italian league, the American point guard brings with him a deep understanding of Serie A and natural leadership that makes him a key figure both on and off the court.

Cantù heads into the new season on the strength of having secured its place in the league—as a newly promoted team—during the 2025–2026 season. For this year, the club has made several changes, starting with the general manager and head coach positions: Simone Giofré holds the former role, while Frank Vitucci holds the latter. The two had previously worked together at other clubs, such as Brindisi and Treviso.
