2026-2027 Serie B: Cremonese vs. Modena, Probable Lineups

Modena’s second match of the season is scheduled for tonight at 8:30 p.m. at the Giovanni Zini Stadium, where they will face Cremonese. The Gialloblù are looking to secure a positive result on the road, backed by a large contingent of fans in the stands: 1,103 Modena supporters will be in attendance in Cremona. The match pits the teams coached by Marco Giampaolo and Daniele Galloppa against each other, both of whom still have a few lineup decisions to make before kickoff.
Cremonese welcomes back Pontisso, who has served his suspension and is expected to resume his spot in midfield. Grassi and Djuric, however, remain out due to suspension. Also sidelined are Stuckler, dealing with a sprained left ankle sustained in the Coppa Italia, and Barbieri, sidelined by an ankle sprain sustained during preseason.
Collocolo will also miss the match due to a strained right thigh adductor muscle sustained in the season opener against Empoli. Giampaolo is expected to stick with the 4-2-3-1 formation. Fulignati will start in goal, with Vogliacco and Pezzella on the flanks and Luperto and Bianchetti as the central defensive pair. In midfield, Pontisso is expected to partner former player Gerli, with Lottici Tessadri initially slated for the bench. In the attacking midfield, Elia is favored over Berti on the right, with Bonazzoli in the center and Vandeputte on the left. Up front, another former player from this matchup, De Luca, will start.
For Modena, the main news is the return of Olzer, who is available again after serving his suspension. Adorni also returns to the defense, having recovered from a physical issue, while Ronco has been called up but has not yet fully recovered from his injury and is expected to watch from the stands. Stenio, however, will not be available due to physical issues. Also still out are Sersanti, who is dealing with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee; Manquant, who is recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee; and Laidani, who recently underwent a partial meniscectomy on the medial meniscus of his left knee. Galloppa is expected to start with a 3-4-2-1 formation. Chichizola will be in goal, protected by a back three consisting of Tonoli, Nador, and Nieling.
