Inter Transfer Market: Federico Chiesa Won’t Be Joining the Nerazzurri—Here Are Two Reasons Why

Inter continues to monitor the transfer market as the summer window nears its end, but the possibility of adding a fifth striker to the roster seems to be fading. The situation has changed, especially after the potential sale of Luis Henrique hit a snag; he may therefore remain at Cristian Chivu’s disposal.

The Brazilian forward’s departure, in particular, might have prompted Inter to make another move in the attacking department. With Luis Henrique increasingly likely to stay, however, the idea of bringing in a new player up front has gradually faded. With just a few days left before the transfer window closes, there are currently no concrete negotiations for a new signing.

Among the names linked to Inter in recent weeks was Federico Chiesa, but that lead does not seem destined to turn into actual negotiations. According to Fabrizio Romano, there are in fact no negotiations underway between Inter and Liverpool for the former Juventus player. The transfer would also present a fundamental challenge. Chiesa is seeking more playing time after seeing limited action at Liverpool, and even at Inter, he would not be guaranteed a starting role. For this reason, a move to Inter would not necessarily be the ideal solution for the player.

The latest indications therefore suggest that Inter is ready to tackle the start of the season with its current attacking roster. Beppe Marotta has also left the door open to possible opportunities, though he emphasized that he does not currently see any concrete options on the transfer market. Chivu, for his part, has reiterated his confidence in the young forwards already on the roster. Inter’s transfer window, therefore, could close without the arrival of a fifth striker. Chiesa remains a name linked to Inter, but no negotiations are currently underway, while Luis Henrique’s decision to stay has further reduced the need for reinforcements in the attacking department.
