Naples says goodbye to Mam, but there’s an alternative to make Repesa happy

Virtus Bologna

In recent days, Mam Jaiteh—a center who previously played in Italy for Virtus Bologna and, before that, Auxilium Torino—has been identified as one of Napoli Basketball’s top targets to bolster the frontcourt at the disposal of coach Jasmin Repesa.

However, the pursuit of the player appears to have stalled. According to the latest reports, Jaiteh has not yet given his final approval for the transfer. This situation has reportedly prompted the Naples-based club to consider alternative options, including Maurice Ndour.

The Senegalese big man has reportedly become the focus of a transfer battle between Maxima Roma and Napoli Basket, with the latter reportedly holding the edge. Born in 1992, he is an experienced player who is already familiar with the Italian league, where he made a name for himself during his time with Germani Brescia.

Signing Ndour, however, is not expected to be easy. In addition to interest from the two Serie A clubs, several European teams are reportedly also pursuing the player, ready to join the race to secure an experienced and skilled player under the basket.
