F1 Unveils 2027 Race Calendar: There’s Also Some News for Monza

F1 has officially announced next season’s calendar. There will be a total of 24 Grand Prix races, with a significant increase in the number of Sprint races—rising from six to 10. Also worth noting is the return of two historic countries: Turkey and Portugal.

“The 2027 calendar brings together some of the world’s most iconic circuits and vibrant cities, creating an extraordinary stage for another unforgettable Formula 1 season. We’re thrilled to welcome Portugal and Turkey to the championship and to expand the Sprint races to ten events, offering our fans even more intensity, excitement, and the wheel-to-wheel action that makes our sport so special,” said Stefano Domenicali, president and CEO of Formula 1.

Among the Grands Prix that will also feature a Sprint race is Monza, which—for the first time in its history—will therefore also host the “Saturday race.” For the many Italian fans, this is a new development that will make the weekend at the Temple of Speed even more exciting.
