Reggio Emilia defeats Verona in front of 500 fans

Pallacanestro Reggiana

UNA Hotels won the exhibition game at the PalaRegnani in Scandiano, where, in front of over 500 fans, the red-and-whites defeated Tezenis Verona 77-69.

Priftis’s team got off to a strong start, sending Ogbeide to slam it home off an assist from Speedy Smith Jr. immediately after the tip-off. It was in the latter part of the first quarter that the red-and-whites pulled ahead for the first time, capped off by Visconti’s three-pointer at the buzzer to make it 25-17.

In the second quarter, UNA Hotels extended their lead to +15 with baskets by Rossato and Edwards, but Tezenis fought back and closed the gap: at halftime, the score was 39-34.

The second half belonged to Reggio Emilia. Ball movement became smoother, creating scoring opportunities on multiple levels—both from beyond the arc and in the paint—and the largest lead came in the third quarter at 58-40 (+18). In the final quarter, the teams focused more on transition play and a fast pace, with a few missed shots on both sides, leading to the final score of 77-69.

UNA Hotels wraps up its preseason on Saturday at 6:30 p.m., on the court in Casnate con Bernate, where they will face Acqua San Bernardo Cantù.
