Another tragedy on the road: a young soccer player dies

Manuel Korreshi, the 15-year-old involved in a serious traffic accident while riding his bike along the Riviera Berica, did not survive. The causes of the accident are still under investigation. The boy died in the pediatric intensive care unit at San Bortolo Hospital in Vicenza, where he had been transferred in very serious condition.

The driver of the car involved in the collision immediately stopped to provide assistance and alerted emergency services. SUEM paramedics stabilized and intubated Manuel, who had lost consciousness, and then rushed him to the hospital in Vicenza, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit.

Manuel attended the Lampertico Institute in Vicenza and was a huge soccer fan. In the past, he had played for the Longare Castegnero youth team alongside his older brother Enea, and he was currently playing for Este’s Under-16 team, for which he had already scored a goal.

The community is deeply saddened by the young man’s death. The mayor of Castegnero Nanto, Manuela Vecchiatti, stated: “This is a tragedy that saddens us deeply. Manuel was just 15 years old, and his death has affected our entire community. At this time, our thoughts go above all to his family, with whom we stand in solidarity during their grief.”
