A minor incident involving the assistant referee costs Ascoli dearly. Six other clubs were also fined.

The Disciplinary Committee came down hard on Ascoli, fining the club 5,000 euros “because its supporters, in the 6th minute of the second half, threw a coin that struck an assistant referee in the leg without causing him any injury; the penalty was reduced pursuant to Art. 29, paragraph 1, letter b) of the CGS.”
Avellino, Südtirol, Hellas Verona, Mantova, and Modena were also penalized following the fifth matchday of Serie B, which took place between Friday, September 18, and Sunday, September 20. Below are the reasons for each sanction as reported in the statement released by Lega B:

CLUBS
Fine of €6,000.00: imposed on AVELLINO for its supporters throwing three smoke bombs onto the field during the first half, forcing the referee on two occasions to halt the match to allow for their removal; Penalty reduced pursuant to Art. 29, paragraph 1, letter b) of the CGS.
Fine of €5,000.00: imposed on ASCOLI for its supporters throwing a coin in the 6th minute of the second half, which struck an assistant referee in the leg without causing injury; Penalty reduced pursuant to Art. 29, paragraph 1, subparagraph b) of the CGS.
Fine of €4,000.00: imposed on SÜDTIROL on the grounds of strict liability, for having unjustifiably caused a delay of approximately four minutes in the start of the first half.
Fine of €3,000.00: imposed on HELLAS VERONA on the grounds of strict liability, for having unjustifiably caused a delay of approximately three minutes in the start of the first half.
Fine of €3,000.00: imposed on HELLAS VERONA because its supporters, in the 32nd minute of the second half, threw a child seat onto the field; penalty reduced pursuant to Art. 29, paragraph 1, letter b) of the CGS.
Fine of €2,000.00: imposed on MANTOVA for its supporters setting off smoke bombs in their section in the 2nd minute of the first half, which caused a reduction in visibility such that the referee was forced to suspend the match for approximately two minutes; Penalty reduced pursuant to Art. 29, paragraph 1, letter b) of the CGS.
Fine of €1,500.00: imposed on MODENA for its supporters throwing three small cylindrical plastic containers onto the field of play during the match; Penalty reduced pursuant to Art. 29, paragraph 1, letter b) of the CGS
