Ascoli has added a new player to its roster, acquiring the playing rights to Lorenzo Venuti. The defender has signed a contract that will keep him with the Bianconeri through June 30, 2027. Born in Montevarchi on April 12, 1995, Venuti came up through Fiorentina’s youth academy, also spending a season with Pescara’s Primavera team. During his time in the youth ranks, he also represented various Italian national youth teams, advancing as far as the Under-21 level.

His professional debut came in Serie B with Brescia, where he made 27 appearances during the 2015–16 season. He then moved to Benevento, where he enjoyed two particularly significant seasons. With the Campania-based team, he contributed to their historic promotion to Serie A via the playoffs, even providing the assist to Pușcaș for the decisive goal in the second leg of the final against Carpi.

In 2017–18, he made his top-flight debut, finishing the season with 31 appearances. The following season, he returned to Serie B with Brescia, playing in 32 matches and recording 3 goals and 3 assists.

After that stint, Venuti returned to Fiorentina, the club where he had come up through the ranks. He remained with the Viola for four years, gaining experience in European competitions as well. In August 2022, he played in both matches against Twente, while during the 2022–23 season he appeared in five Conference League matches, including the quarterfinal second leg against Lech Poznan.

His time with Fiorentina concluded with a total of 100 appearances across Serie A, the Coppa Italia, and European competitions, along with 3 goals—all in the Coppa Italia—and 5 assists.

In the 2023–24 season, he continued his career in Serie A, making 14 league appearances. He then moved to Sampdoria, from which he transferred to Ascoli; over the past two seasons with Ascoli, he has recorded 50 appearances, 2 goals, and one assist.
