Juan Carlos Ferrero revives the Jannik Sinner speculation. The former coach of Carlos Alcaraz, speaking during the program “El Larguero” on the Spanish radio station Cadena Ser, sent a new and significant message regarding Jannik Sinner. Specifically, Ferrero made no secret of his interest in the Italian player, hinting that a future collaboration is by no means out of the question.

“I’m a coach and I want to continue growing in my career: I can’t close the door on the possibility of coaching Jannik Sinner,” the former world No. 1 stated firmly. “People ask me, ‘But if you coached Alcaraz, how can you switch to his rival?’ but no one thinks about what’s best for my career. If the opportunity to coach Sinner were to arise, it would be madness to turn it down.”

Ferrero’s comments come at a particularly uncertain time for Sinner, as—among other things—it remains unclear whether Darren Cahill will remain on his coaching staff for the upcoming season. Inevitably, therefore, speculation on the matter is growing, even though there are no negotiations at the moment and Jannik’s primary concern is to recover as soon as possible. Ferrero has, however, confirmed that he considers Sinner one of the most interesting players on the tour and a prospect that no ambitious coach can afford to ignore.

During the interview, the Spaniard also addressed his split with Carlos Alcaraz: “There’s no need to make public what we said to each other; we simply had different views on certain things,” Ferrero said of his former protégé. “Carlos is still an extraordinary player, and I enjoy watching him play on TV,”

The future, however, could hold surprises, and Sinner’s name is once again at the center of the debate.
