Marc Marquez snaps: “If you don’t accept it, you’re out.” His departure is drawing nearer

Marc Marquez has no intention of slowing down and is heading to Mandalika in search of another step toward the title: “I’m definitely arriving this time in a very different frame of mind than I was last year. Now I just have to focus on the present, putting my crashes behind me, so I can start working at my best this weekend.”
Marquez knows the track might present different challenges than Motegi, so he prefers to concentrate on the work in the pit: “Work as effectively as possible in the pit and give it my all on the track. I remember that last year, over the course of the weekend, I felt better and better on my bike, and that will be the goal this time around as well.”
Marquez also spoke about the future of MotoGP and the new format planned for the 2027 World Championship. The schedule calls for fewer free practice sessions, the elimination of the warm-up, and, most importantly, two separate qualifying sessions—one for the Sprint Race and one for Sunday’s race: “It will be important to understand the purpose of this change. For us riders, it will certainly be more demanding—that’s obvious. I think the current format was already more than enough, but it’s certainly not up to us to decide, so we’ll have to adapt as we always do. It’s the teams and the organization that decide. If you don’t accept it, you leave.”
“Did Pedro Acosta say that riders’ careers will be shorter? I completely agree with him, but mine is already over…,” the nine-time world champion concluded with a joke.
