Selom Mawugbe warns Udine: “We’ll be different”

On Saturday, Trento travels to Udine to play; Selom Mawugbe is well aware of the challenges Alessandro Rossi’s team will face: “We’re up against a strong team that’s playing very well. We’ll be on the road, so that’s another factor to consider. First and foremost, we’ll need to show a different defensive approach, and on offense, move the ball well, trust our teammates, and take open shots when they present themselves—all while playing as a unit.”
“I’m convinced we’ll show a different side than what we displayed against Slask. I know we’re all highly motivated and can’t wait to take the court against Udine. We know, however, that it won’t be an easy game: it will be a very competitive and physical matchup,” adds the Trentino center.
On the other side, Udine is also watching the arrival of the Bianconeri with respect and attention. Andrea Calzavara, the standout performer in the last game against Cantù, has already assessed the matchup: “We’ve already faced Trento in the preseason, and that was a game with several ups and downs, both on our part and theirs. They’re a young team that loves to run a lot, take plenty of shots, and play at a fast pace.”
“They rely heavily on the sheer number of scoring opportunities they can create, but they also have some very talented individual players. Our defensive effort will be crucial. We’ll have to be very focused, understand their individual strengths well, and try to slow down their pace. At the same time, we’ll need to be the ones controlling the pace of the game and staying focused for all forty minutes. It’ll take another performance marked by great focus and sacrifice,” added the Friuli-born player in an interview with Udine’s Gazzettino.
