Amedeo Della Valle is back, but Kastritis is proceeding with caution

Amedeo della Valle will be available for Varese’s game against Trieste on Saturday, thus rejoining Coach Ioannis Kastritis’s rotation: on Friday, the forward worked with the team throughout the entire practice, also taking part in the three-on-three and five-on-five tactical drills.

However, Varese coach Kastritis tempered expectations during a press conference: “We need to give him the time he needs to regain his rhythm and return to being the player we want him to be.” Kastritis is nonetheless pleased with Della Valle’s attitude: “Mentally, he’s in great shape, and I’m sure his presence will be felt as early as the next game.”

Varese needs to turn the page immediately after its heavy defeat in Murcia in the cup. The response must come primarily from a mental standpoint after the nightmare they experienced in Spain: “We have to be able to bounce back and not let our emotions get the better of us, regardless of whether they’re positive or negative.”

Della Valle’s return is hugely significant news for Openjobmetis, which in recent games has often had to rely on the individual efforts of its key offensive players, struggling to find consistent alternatives during the most critical moments of the games. His absence due to a right knee injury had already forced the coaching staff to sit out the former Olimpia Milano and Germani Brescia player in both the game against Scafati and the European road game in Murcia, with the goal of facilitating his full recovery.
