A Narrow Escape in Giulianova: Journalist Ends Up in the Hospital

A shameful incident occurred during the Serie D match between Giulianova and Ancona: journalist Silvia Trillini, an Ancona-based reporter for TVRS, was injured in the head after the glass partition in the press box collapsed.
According to reporters, some fans repeatedly struck the radio booth during the second half of the amateur league match, causing the partition to fall and land on the journalists. Silvia Trillini, who was with her colleague Ferdinando Vicini, was taken to the Giulianova emergency room to be treated for head injuries.
“One of the Giulianova fans threw yet another punch at the glass partition of the press box, which fell on me and injured my head. I’m now at the Giulianova emergency room, where they’ll probably have to give me stitches,” she said, as reported by ANSA.
During the broadcast, the two journalists were live on the web, but the stream was interrupted due to the incident: “We were attacked by home fans who struck the radio booth; the glass partition of the press box fell and landed on top of us. We didn’t have time to stop it because we were busy with the broadcast, and it came crashing down on us. Those were very chaotic moments.” On the field, Ancona won 2-0 on the road.
