On Sunday at 12:30 p.m., the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine will host the match between Udinese and Lecce, as part of the seventh matchday of the league season. The home team is struggling greatly; in the first six matchdays, they’ve earned just four points, and their only Serie A victory came back in late August against Monza.

The team from Salento isn’t faring much better: 6 points in the first 6 matchdays, the result of 2 wins and 4 losses. Eusebio Di Francesco’s team has won just one game on the road, before losing at San Siro to Milan and at the Domus Arena to Cagliari.

The coach is determined to turn things around and reiterated this at a press conference: “We’re facing a team accustomed to playing in these leagues, but we need to pick up points. We’re on Matchday 7, and it’s a very long road ahead in this league.”

Kosta Runjaic could start David Alaba, who has a slight edge over Enzo Ebosse, with Palma and Solet alongside him. Vojvoda and Kamara will man the flanks, with Karlström and Zarraga in the middle. Ekkelenkamp and Chakvetadze will play behind Davis. An important return for the Friulians: Piotrowski has been cleared to play following his ablation procedure and will take his place on the bench.

Eusebio Di Francesco opts for a 4-3-3 formation; unlike in the match against Bologna, he has decided to entrust Geubbels with leading the attack. The Frenchman will be supported by Fatah and Pierotti. In midfield, Ngom starts from the 1st minute, flanked by Coulibaly and Maleh in front of a back line consisting of Danilo Veiga, Tiago Gabriel, Siebert, and Gallo. Falcone is in goal.
