Inter: Beppe Marotta’s Transfer Hint Sparks Excitement Among Fans—Two Hot Names for the Defense

Beppe Marotta’s comments on the sidelines of the Champions League match between Inter and Shakhtar Donetsk have inevitably sparked debate among Inter fans. The Nerazzurri CEO acknowledged that the team lacks—primarily due to injuries—a true leader in the back line, opening the door to speculation ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
“I agree with those who say that right now we’re missing a defensive leader,” Marotta told Sky Sport. “The difficulties we’ve faced recently, however, are also due to the numerous absences that have plagued the defense. Of course, we must always remember that we play with eleven players and there are three lines; it’s not fair to blame only the defense when results are inconsistent.”
Looking ahead to the winter transfer window, there are two hot names: the first is Luca Reggiani, an Italian center back for Borussia Dortmund. The young defender, who came up through Sassuolo’s youth system, is having a difficult season in Germany, where he has seen very little playing time under Niko Kovac so far, making just two substitute appearances across the Bundesliga and the German Cup.
According to Bild, the player is reportedly seriously considering a move during the winter transfer window. Last summer, several Italian clubs had already expressed interest in him, including Inter. This situation could come back into the spotlight in the coming weeks if the defender’s playing time does not increase.
Another name that has caught the attention of Inter’s management is Finn Jeltsch, a talented center back from Stuttgart. Born in 2006, standing 188 centimeters tall, and possessing great tactical versatility, the German defender has established himself in recent months as one of the most promising prospects on the European scene.
The deal, however, is far from straightforward. Stuttgart, in fact, values the player at between 35 and 40 million euros, and the competition is fierce. In fact, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid are reportedly interested in the young center back and are ready to step in should an opportunity for a transfer arise.
