Napoli defeated Bodo/Glimt 4-3 in the Champions League, bouncing back after their latest league loss to Venezia. Against the Norwegians, coach Massimiliano Allegri introduced a tactical change, trying Kevin De Bruyne as a playmaker.

The Livorno-born coach was immediately rewarded: the Belgian was among the best on the field, and up front, it was the usual Scott McTominay who made the difference. Even one of his most vocal critics, Daniele Adani, applauded him on Instagram, in his own way: “Max, LET’S PLAY SOCCER! In the 40th minute of Napoli vs. Bodo, you invoked the sacred Word, and you did it with a gesture visible to the entire team… and in the 41st minute, MC Fratm put the boys back in the lead.”

“Always ready to come to your rescue, old ‘friend,’ but don’t betray the Word of the new prophets anymore—pick up where you left off eight years ago. Let your third career begin, after the previous two that were so polar opposites of each other. In this conceptual alternation between good and evil, rise again like the Phoenix and surrender to the new commandment of Futbol. Gesture as much as you can with your hands and arms; point the way forward as a lifeline and a new horizon to explore.”

“If you want me to, I’ll always be there—I owe it to you and to the entire FÚTBOL community. May ‘Facciamo Calcio’ guide and protect you. Max, see you along the way.”
