Sofia Goggia Reveals a Behind-the-Scenes Story About Jannik Sinner

Sofia Goggia is back on her skis, training on the Stelvio after the terrible virus that forced her to interrupt her training in Argentina: “I put my skis back on and felt so happy. It was a wonderful feeling to return to doing what I love most. I’d like to sincerely thank everyone who helped me during this time.”
“This experience has given me a different perspective not only on skiing, but on life in general. I want to live the years I have left with a lighter heart. It was a thought I already had before this season, but after what happened, it’s even more so,” she said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Like her, Jannik Sinner is also dealing with a physical issue that has forced him to sit out until the end of the year. The Italian skier revealed that she’s been in touch with the South Tyrolean tennis player: “Jannik and I have already exchanged messages,” she told *La Gazzetta dello Sport*.
Sofia then returned to the topic of the bronze medal she won in Milan-Cortina: “It was a very unusual day. It was already special in and of itself: it was the most anticipated event of the Olympics, the one that drew the largest audience. Everything happened. I heard Vonn scream from the third gate. I didn’t know who was in the lead—nothing. I skied down half an hour later; the light had changed, and the snow was different. Then, yes, I made that mistake on the Schuss delle Tofane. But it was still great to win that bronze.”
