Conegliano Wins the Super Cup: Scandicci Defeated in Four Sets

Prosecco DOC A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano wins the 31st FIAT Super Cup, the ninth trophy in the team’s history in this competition. In a sold-out PalaFlorio in Bari, with 5,000 spectators in the stands, the Panthers defeated a tenacious Savino Del Bene Scandicci in four sets, at the end of a closely contested and thrilling final. For coach Daniele Santarelli, this marks his eighth Super Cup title of his career.
After a spectacular first set, won by the Tuscan team, Conegliano fought back and evened the score. The Venetians then managed to prevail in two hard-fought sets, both decided in extra points, before sealing the victory in the fourth set. It was a display of character and resilience for the champions, who were able to draw on different resources and key players at decisive moments.
The MVP award went to Isabelle Haak, who scored 28 points and was also named the best player in the most recent league championship final. The victory, however, was a team effort. Fahr, with 14 points, was the star of a devastating second set, while Zhu, with 17 points, made a decisive contribution in the fourth set.
Gabi’s defensive work was also crucial, with a 71% efficiency rate, as was that of libero Monica De Gennaro, who recorded her tenth win in the competition with a 58% efficiency rate. Rounding out the picture were the composure of setter Joanna Wolosz and the contribution of a resurgent Raphaela Folie.
