Daniele De Rossi is going through a deep crisis with his Genoa team and has managed to collect just 4 points in the first 7 matchdays, all at home. At the moment, his job doesn’t seem to be in jeopardy, but he can’t afford to lose against the team from Venice.
Some players and several members of Genoa’s staff have come down with a stomach virus; De Rossi didn’t provide further details at the press conference, but some lineup decisions will be made at the last minute. Bijlow will be in goal, with Marcandalli, Østigård, and Vásquez in front of him. Baldanzi is questionable; in midfield, Ellertsson, Frendrup, Traoré, and Puczka should make a difference. Former Milan players Messias and El Shaarawy will play in the attacking midfield in support of Osmajic.

Davide Nicola was officially named head coach in mid-October, and in his debut on the Venetian bench, he defeated Massimiliano Allegri’s Napoli 1-0. Before his arrival, Mazzocchi and his teammates were stuck at zero points, and their poor performance had cost Giovanni Stroppa his job.
Against Genoa, Stankovic is confirmed in goal; Halhal will play alongside Moreno and Juan Jesus. On the left wing, Mazzocchi is favored over Haps; on the other side, Hainaut will partner with Pérez Muñoz, Basic, and Sohm in midfield. Yeboah and Adams will lead the attack.
