2026-2027 Serie B: Ascoli vs. Sampdoria, Probable Lineups

Ascoli and Sampdoria will face off on Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. at the “Cino e Lillo Del Duca” Stadium for Matchday 9 of Serie B. The Marche-based team is riding high after a sensational 6-1 victory over Catanzaro, a result that has propelled them to fourth place with 15 points. It’s been an uphill battle, however, for Sampdoria, currently second-to-last with five points: the 1-1 draw against Südtirol showed some signs of a turnaround, but the Blucerchiati need a win to get back on track.

For Ascoli, Francesco Tomei may give some of the key players from the big win in Catanzaro a breather. On the right wing, Oliveri has the edge over Venuti, while Corradini and Damiani are expected to start in midfield. Up front, De Pieri could see action in the attacking midfield, with Gori slightly favored over Brunori as the main attacking threat.

Sampdoria, on the other hand, must deal with numerous absences: D’Angelo has nine players unavailable, including Depaoli and Insigne. Cicconi is therefore expected to play on the left wing, while Henderson, Abildgaard, and Makoumbou are expected in midfield. Begic and Verschaeren are expected to play behind Lauritsen, with Verschaeren edged out by Tutino for a starting spot.
