Como: Douvikas’ move originated in Manchester

Como has announced that Tasos Douvikas has signed a new contract with the club through 2031: a move that also serves as a response to interest from across the Channel, with Manchester United having been ready to invest heavily in the Greek striker.
Since arriving on the shores of Lake Como during the winter transfer window of the 2024–25 season, Douvikas has made 68 appearances for Como, scoring 27 goals and providing five assists across all competitions.
Last season, the former Utrecht and Celta Vigo player scored 14 goals, finishing the season as the second-leading scorer in Serie A. This season, Douvikas has scored in each of the first three matchdays of the UEFA Champions League group stage, marking his debut in the competition for both himself and Como 1907.
“I’m very happy to continue my journey with Como; I’ve felt at home here from the very beginning and immediately sensed the club’s ambition. I’ve grown a lot since I arrived thanks to Coach Fàbregas and his staff—this group is like a big family to me. I want to keep helping the team by giving my all,” said the player, born in 1999.
“From his very first day in Como, Tasos has shown a great mindset, and the results have been evident on the field. He’s always a positive guy, with a lot of ambition and a strong work ethic. We’re happy to announce his contract extension,” added Fàbregas.
