Juventus: Spalletti is on edge as three alternatives emerge ahead of Conte’s return

Confidence in Luciano Spalletti seems to be holding up, at least for now, but the heavy 0-2 loss to Genoa has inevitably reignited the debate within Juventus. The result—the team’s third loss in the first nine league matches—is only part of the problem. Of greater concern were the team’s performance, the lack of creativity, and the difficulty in responding to adversity.
The schedule offers Juventus the opportunity to try to turn things around, with a series of closely spaced matches leading up to the international break in mid-November. The next match, however, is already particularly delicate: on Sunday evening, Napoli—led by Massimiliano Allegri, a former Juventus star who is currently suspended—will visit the Allianz Stadium.
After what we saw at the Ferraris, a concrete response will be needed. Another disappointing performance could seriously jeopardize the Tuscan coach’s position, even if the blame cannot be placed solely on him. The team is showing technical and mental limitations, while the squad’s composition continues to raise questions.
A potential coaching change would be the most immediate solution, but not necessarily enough to resolve all the problems. Furthermore, in January, the club could make moves in the transfer market to fill certain gaps in the roster. Among Juventus fans, the name most frequently mentioned has long been that of Antonio Conte. The Salento-born coach, currently at the helm of Napoli, continues to represent the ideal candidate for those calling for an immediate turnaround, especially in terms of mentality, personality, and playing style.
If the path leading to Conte proves unfeasible, Juventus could consider other candidates. Among the names circulating is that of Stefano Pioli, while exploratory contacts have reportedly been made with Didier Deschamps as well. Paulo Sousa has also appeared in the latest rumors. These are coaches with different characteristics and experiences, but at the moment there isn’t enough information to identify a concrete candidate to succeed Spalletti.
