Ezio Greggio doesn’t hold back on Juventus: a scathing critique

Luciano Spalletti’s Juventus is facing major difficulties: in the league, the team has earned just 14 points in 9 games, a decidedly disappointing tally considering the significant investments made over the summer. Despite failing to qualify for the Champions League, the front office invested over 150 million euros to strengthen the team, but so far the new signings have yet to make an impact.
Ezio Greggio, a huge Juventus fan, took to social media to share his thoughts on the team and didn’t mince words: “Speaking of Juventus, I wrote this last year as well: you can’t make Barolo out of turnips. We’re paying for the mistakes of past years, when the club made poor signings—not just players who weren’t up to Juventus’ standards, but also questionable coaches and executives.”
“The managers who arrived this year are facing a complex situation; they can’t work miracles—they’re dealing with a complicated situation both on the field and in terms of financial fair play,” he continued. “The team, decimated by high-profile absences, takes the field nervous, fearful, and demoralized.”
“I believe that, contrary to those who argue we shouldn’t go to the stadium in protest, we should do the opposite: fill the Stadium, cheer for 90 minutes even when they make mistakes, because on one hand, this is the best way to force them to fight, to show their grit, and on the other, it’s the best response if they don’t give their all—to make them feel small-time. Anyway, forza Juve now and forever!”
Fresh off a bad loss to Genoa, Juventus will face Massimiliano Allegri’s Napoli on Sunday night. Luciano Spalletti’s position is starting to look shaky, and there are several candidates to replace him: Stefano Pioli is eager to get back into the game, Simone Inzaghi might leave Saudi Arabia, Didier Deschamps has a wealth of experience, and Francesco Farioli is doing well with Porto.
