Harborough Town has made a truly unusual signing. The English club has officially announced the signing of Kyle Hudlin, a 26-year-old forward who, at 206 centimeters tall, is considered one of the tallest professional soccer players in the world. He’s a physically imposing addition to the Leicestershire squad, which is set to face League One side Leyton Orient in the first round of the FA Cup.

The Birmingham-born center forward arrives after an international stint with Nam Dinh, a team in Vietnam’s top division. Throughout his career, he has also played for Solihull Moors, Huddersfield Town, and Newport County, building a reputation for his imposing physical stature and ability to create danger in the opponent’s box.

Among the most significant milestones of his career is his time at Solihull Moors, where he scored 17 goals in 69 appearances. While wearing that jersey, in 2022, Hudlin scored the opening goal in the National League playoff final, played at London Stadium. That performance helped attract the attention of Huddersfield Town, the club to which he transferred the following summer.

During his time with the Terriers, the forward had the opportunity to experience Championship soccer and gain experience through various loan spells with AFC Wimbledon, Burton Albion, and Newport County. His time with Huddersfield came to an end in July 2025, before he moved to the Vietnamese league.

Hudlin’s arrival underscores Harborough Town’s ambitions; in recent months, the club has already added players with backgrounds in English professional soccer to its roster. Among them are Michael Jacobs, a former winger for Wigan Athletic, and Britt Assombalonga, a forward who has also played for Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest.

Attention now turns to the FA Cup, a competition in which the Leicestershire club hopes to replicate its run from the 2024–25 season, when it reached the second round before being eliminated by Reading.

The match against Leyton Orient will serve as an important test and could give Hudlin the chance to make an immediate impact. At 2.06 meters tall, the new forward promises to become a key presence in the penalty area and a difficult player for opposing defenses to contain.
