Two away wins came in the 3:00 p.m. matches of the 11th matchday of Serie A. Milan bounced back immediately after their crushing defeat in the Europa League against Ferencvaros and secured a valuable victory at Marassi, beating Genoa 2-1.

The Rossoneri took the lead in the 12th minute thanks to Cissé, who finished off a counterattack orchestrated by Rabiot and Ramos following an earlier mistake by Genoa in their build-up play. And in the 19th minute, Amorim’s team immediately doubled their lead with Pulisic, who scored off an assist from Ramos following yet another defensive error by De Rossi’s backline. In the second half, the match became tense due to some refereeing decisions; Ellertsson pulled one back in the 88th minute with a splendid strike from 25 meters, but it was too late for Genoa, as Maignan made a decisive save in the closing moments.

In the standings, Milan climbs to fourth place with 24 points, while De Rossi’s team sees its winning streak snapped and remains in 13th place with 13 points.

In the other match of the afternoon, Atalanta won 1-0 at Monza. It was a breath of fresh air for Sarri’s team, which returned to winning ways after a month and climbed to 14 points, while Juric’s side suffered its fourth straight loss and remains third from last. For Atalanta, Krstovic’s goal in the 50th minute proved decisive, as he skillfully pounced on a loose ball in the Biancorossi’s penalty area.
